Got Questions? We’ve Got Answers! Joining a new performing arts group is an exciting step for your family, and we want you to feel completely informed and confident every step of the way. Whether you’re wondering about rehearsal times, how our non-auditioned show roles work, we’ve put together answers to the questions parents ask us most.

Where and when do weekly rehearsals take place?

We will rehearse every Sunday afternoon from May 17th 2027 through to October 24th 2027 at St Swithuns, Grovelands Rd, Purley CR8 4LB.

Our sessions run from 12.15pm-3.45pm. 

Does my child need to attend every single rehearsal?

Because we build custom roles and group numbers around every single child, regular attendance is really important so the team can work together effectively! We understand that family life happens, but we just ask for advance notice if your child is going to miss a session.

There will be compulsary rehearsals towards the end of the term so that we can put the whole show together, dates will be given in advance

When is the final performance, and do parents need to buy tickets?

Our season finishes with a full stage production during the October Half Term. Friends, family, and the community will be invited to watch! Ticket details and booking links will be shared with parents well in advance of show week.

Can parents stay and watch the rehearsals?

To help the children focus, build independence, and bond as a group, weekly sessions are drop-off only. However, parents are welcome to settle their child in during the first few minutes of the initial sessions if they are feeling extra nervous!

Where will this years show be hosted?

We are very happy to be hosted by the Cryer Arts Theatre for this year's show. You will need to be available to be at the Theatre on 23rd October for dress rehearsals, and 24th October for the two shows.

What should my child wear and bring to Sunday sessions?

Comfort is key! Children should wear comfortable clothing they can move around in easily (like leggings, joggers, and t-shirts) and flat shoes/trainers. Please also send them with a refillable water bottle and a small nut-free snack for break time.

How much does it cost to join?

We charge a highly competitive fee of £150 for the entire project. This breaks down to less than £1.50 an hour across all 3.5-hour weekly rehearsals, plus all full-day technical rehearsals and final theatre performances!

Flexible Payment Options:

  • Pay in Full: £150 by 24th May

  • Split the Cost: Spread the payments into 3 manageable instalments of £50 by 24 May / 30  Jun / 31 Jul

What’s Included? Your fee directly covers weekly rehearsal hall hire, Cryer Arts Theatre stage hire, all relevant insurance, custom show costumes, props, and our creative coaching! We work hard to keep our group as accessible as possible with no hidden surprise costs.

What Parents Need to Provide (Show Base Layer): To keep costs down, we ask parents to provide a simple base layer for show week. Participants will need to have - 

  • A skin coloured leotard

  • Plain black cami top

  • Plain black hotpants/shorts

  • Plain black leggings or trousers

  • Skin coloured dance tights

  • Black jazz shoes

We want all our performers to feel comfortable, confident, and supported—please choose whichever base layer works best for your child. 

(Occasionally, we may also ask for basic everyday items your child likely already owns, such as a specific colour t-shirt).

Who will be looking after my child during sessions?

Sessions are led by Joanna and Lauren alongside our dedicated team of volunteers. All adult leaders and helpers hold Enhanced DBS checks and follow strict safeguarding policies to ensure a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment at all times.

What if my child gets nervous, shy, or needs extra support?

That is completely normal! We specialise in building confidence at a child’s own pace. There is zero pressure to perform before they are ready. Our team takes extra time to ensure shy or nervous children feel welcomed, included, and valued from day one.

When is the next show?

Our next show will take stage on 24th October at Cryer Theatre. 

Our performers will need to be available on 23rd and 24th October for the final rehearsal, theatre dress rehearsal and the show day.
